TIM CIFERS – I grew up in Granville Co. North Carolina, just North of Raleigh. I was raised on my grandparents farm. Ever since birth, I was rooted in the “country”. So, naturally, I developed a love for Jesus, hunting, fishing, and family. And, living on a farm, I developed a strong work ethic. I don’t mind getting dirty! My family was always knit pretty tight growing up. My grandma lived right next door, and we had cousins who lived in every direction! We used to all meet for dinner after church on Sundays as a family at my grandma’s house. Man, I miss that. The outdoors, and family was all I knew, growing up. So, don’t be surprised if you hear songs I’ve written that talk about God, my dad, my wife, my brother, or hanging out in the woods with a gun, which some folks think is weird. I taught myself to sing and play guitar. I began singing at age 14. I would to try to sing like some of my favorite country artists, and record myself and play it back on old cassette recorder to work on my pitch. And who was any better than George Strait, Conway Twitty, or Tracy Lawrence!?

The past few years have been incredible, as far as music goes! I have put in a lot of hard work, and it is paying off. I’ve won talent competition after talent competition. I’ve played with some of the biggest stars in country music. Luke Bryan, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell, Rascal Flatts, Rodney Atkins, Ricky Skaggs, and more. I’ve recorded with incredible singers and songwriters like John Anderson, Eddy Raven, Jesse Keith Whitley Jr., and countless award winning musicians. In 2015, and 2017, I was nominated for the Carolina Country Male Vocalist of the Year. I have been on the radio, and had my songs played across the nation, and in several other countries. A song I recorded with other musicians has even charted in the top 20 in Europe. I competed on a national T.V. show in 2011. I entered Fox’s The X Factor USA with Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul, where I finished in the top 20 overall out of 200,000+ contestants, which was a huge contribution to my fanbase. I have written a bunch of songs. True, heartfelt, country songs!

At the end of the day, when you look back, and ask yourself, “did I make a difference today?”, you hope to be able to answer yourself with a warm and fuzzy “yes”. We were all called to do something special. I am blessed in feeling that I am living out my calling every day! And every time I walk onto the stage, and with every song I write. I am doing what I love, and love what I do. That, is the dream.
