The Town of Cary Independance Day Celebration is Presented by Segra.

A Triangle tradition! Join us for a salute to the red, white, and blue as we honor the birthday of the U.S.A. with patriotic favorites, high-spirited classics, and a fireworks display over Symphony Lake.
General Admission Seating is FREE to the Public! Please see below for a list of Items allowed/Prohibited.
Family fun activities include: Magic shows, Gem Mining, Rock Climbing wall, Ferris Wheel & Carousel, Ice Cream eating contest, Hot Dog Eating contest & Watermelon seed spitting contest!

Bring your American pride and a big appetite to our first ever hot dog eating competition this 4th of July! It is hosted by Raleigh’s own George Poniros, owner of the Roast Grill and a Man vs. Food challenge host. Registration is free but we only have a limited number of spaces available, so get there early and be ready to chow down! The winner will receive a champion belt filled with a Booth prize package, so you don’t want to miss out!
Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest: 4pm & 6pm, Ages 10 and under, and 10+. You get one slice, see how far you can spit a seed!
Hot Dog Competition: 5pm, Ages 12+. See how many hot dogs you can eat in 20 minutes!
Ice Cream Eating Competition: $5 cash Ages 5-12 & 12+
Contest 1: Ages 5-12—Eat one pint as fast as you can, fastest one wins.
Contest 2: Ages 12 and up—Double Trouble: Teams of two will feed each other one pint each, fastest team with both pints finished wins.
Contest 3: Adults only (18 and up)! The Blowtorch Challenge—Our hottest ice cream yet! For the brave soul who doesn’t care if they live or die. Eat one pint of our Blowtorch ice cream faster than anyone else and WIN!
All Ice Cream eating contestants must preregister before 4:30pm at the Lumpy’s cart in the Cobblestone Courtyard. Limited availability for contestants and contestants must be at their assigned contest on time.
Parking Information
Lots open at 2:30pm
GENERAL PARKING: Parking is free of charge in Amphitheatre owned lots. Some local businesses may charge a fee to park in their lots.
PREFERRED PARKING: A limited number of PREFERRED parking spaces are available for $10.00 per car in advance or $15.00 on the day of event (cash only).
ACCESSIBLE PARKING: A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available on a first come first served basis with the proper hang tag or license plate.
PICK UP & DROP OFF: If using a taxi, Uber etc please follow the signs & our Parking Staff to the pick up & drop off area.

- Food & Beverages (Including beer & wine/Glass okay)
- Lawn chairs (Any Height okay. NO foot rest or Canopy)
- Purses & Backpacks
- Small non-professional cameras with no flash
- Strollers
- Rain Coats & Ponchos
- Umbrellas permitted but must come down when Symphony takes the stage.
All coolers, bags, back packs, purses are subject to search.
Prohibited Items
- Go Pros, Audio or video recorders
- Grills & Open Flames (inside or outside the venue)
- Drones
- Fireworks/Sparklers of any kind
- Frisbees
- Liquor
- Pets of any kind (Unless it’s a service Animal)
- Tents/Staking
- Tarps, Plastic, blankets with Nylon or Non-Breathable material
- Professional cameras with detachable lenses
- Weapons of Any Kind (Include but not limited to knives, guns, tasers, chains, studded/spiked jewelry)
Food & Beverage Options
Venue concession stands will be open serving a variety of fantastic food and beverages. Food trucks are located on the Lake path. Food trucks scheduled will be posted on our website 48 hours before the event.
